Two weeks ago it was time for me to be a guest DT over at The Color Room. If that wasn’t enough, I got the week with my favourite paper collection of all times- “Ska Vi Ta En Fika?” (Let’s Have Some Coffee), also known as the Fika collection by Maja Design.
Meet my cute nephew Kim
Today he is 20 years old and even taller then me. LOL. When I heard that Lynne had based the palette on the lilac colours of the Fika collection I thought of this photo immediately. I redecorated my room three times a week when I was younger and I had this lilac period when I even had a lilac canopy bed that me and mom fixed. He was lying on the bed, dressed in lilac with my straw hat on when I grabbed the camera.
All papers are from the Fika collection.
The pearls have been made with Pearl Maker Cream. I have used the EK Success punch Fleur De Lis on the photo mat. The other one used on the blue paper is from a Punch Around The Page set by Martha Stewart called Cherish. Hearts have been cut out with my Gazelle. Lilac flowers by Prima, white rose from Wild Orchid Crafts. The doilies have been cut out with a Nestabilities die (Lacey Circles).
The chipboard corners are by Imaginarium. I have painted them with white Gesso, applied Distress Ink Dusty Concord and Milled Lavendar. After that I added some Distress Stickles Milled Lavendar and Dusty Concord. Finally I put on a coat of Crackle Accents to make them crackle.
Smallest flower from Wild Orchid Crafts, the rest from Prima. Blue swirl by Zva Creative, bird cage from Prima.
The chipboard (from Unique Pages) has been painted with Crackle Paint Milled Lavendar. The letters and hearts have been cut out with my Gazelle and distressed with Distress Ink Walnut Stain.
I have used two different Martha Stewart border punches. The left one is Doily Lace, the other one is Arch Lattice. I have used Pearl Maker Lilac on the Arch Lattice and Pearl Maker Cream on the flags.
And here is the palette I have played with.
The last TCR palette has been based on the Life By The Sea collection. This is me and Kim. We were rather close when he was a kid. He more or less lived at my parents place so we saw each other a lot.
I have cut out the two stars (papers “Västkusten” and “Bland Kobbar och Skär”) with my Gazelle. Then I stitched both of the stars before gluing them together.
The small pendants have been cut out from the “Bryggsegla” and “En Dag Till Sjöss” papers. I have made some fake stitches on them with a Zig pen.
Flowers from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts. Crown by Melissa Frances, lace from Magnolia.
The chipboard has been painted with white Gesso and stamped with Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire. I have actually used a christmas stamp, “Holly”, by Tim Holtz that I think makes a great pattern on chipboards.
Flower by Prima, doily from a LSS, letters by Adornit.
The green tree is from Prima, so are the flowers. I have used “En Dag Till Sjöss” and “Nautik” as photomats. Letters from Provo Craft.
And here is the TCR palette I have used….
